Harugo no Mayu (春蚕の繭) literally means “the early spring silkworm’s cocoon”. We are a collective of Japan based or inspired visual artists (and one printer) who are busy inside our own cocoons, trying hard to stay creative and productive. We value art for art’s sake, and want to spread beautiful works around the world via extremely high quality and unique editioned Japan made prints.

Using the best materials and processes, we will produce museum quality works which you can proudly hang on your wall for years and pass down through your family. Prints are made one by one at the hand of a skilled print maker in Tokyo. Rather than being mass produced, each work is given careful love and attention.

The members of the collective have agreed that the images which they produce for this project will ONLY be made into prints this one time. If you miss out on the small edition of 30 + 3 AP, they will be gone forever. Beauty can be fleeting like that! But don’t worry, if you miss your chance one time, we’ll be adding new artists and new works alongside the change of the seasons. There’s always something new sprouting up around the corner.

We believe artists deserve to paid fairly, and fine art editions should not be unattainable to all except the ultra rich. We have carefully priced our prints to hopefully support both artists and their fans. In an age of false digital scarcity, we want to make sure your money goes toward something tangible and lasting which you will be glad to display in your home.
