Why was my order refunded?
The most likely reason is that you tried to order multiple copies of one artist’s print. We want these prints to be spread as far and wide as possible, rather than to be used for resale or speculation. We apologise if you were just trying to buy one extra for your friend, but as we have no way of checking this and our backend does not allow us to limit prints, we will be refunding all orders which contain multiple copies of a print. Buying several different prints is no problem!
If you made an order from MONGOLIA, PARAGUAY or VENEZUELA we will also sadly have to refund your order, as Japan is currently unable to ship to these destinations.
How will my print be shipped?
We will generally ship via express airmail with Japan Post. They quote 7-10 days to most international destinations, although there may be unforeseen delays caused by the coronavirus. While prints typically leave Japan very quickly, please note that we cannot guarantee that there will not be further delays once the prints reach your local mail system.

What kind of paper are the prints made with?
We use a beautiful washi from Awagami Factory, made in Tokushima, Japan. The stock is called Premio Unryu, has a weight of 165gsm, and is made from mulberry. You can see mulberry fibers swirling throughout the paper, catching the light in interesting ways.
What does limited edition mean?
All our artists have agreed that this is the only time they will ever print this image, to keep the edition truly exclusive and fleeting. You might see the work appear in other forms, for example on a t-shirt or inside a book of a collection of the artist’s works, but they will never again be made available as prints.
We will produce a print run of 30 prints and 3 artist proofs of each image. Each print is numbered x/30 (or x/3AP) and embossed with the artist’s signature.
The first AP is given to the artist, the second remains in Tokyo with the printer, and the third we will hold onto and possibly release for sale some time down the line… Keep your eyes peeled!
In cases where the artist produced their work traditionally rather than digitally, they may also decide to sell the original piece at their own discretion. Follow their social media channels to look out for this one off opportunity.
Will you make NFTs?
Harugo no Mayu will never be involved with NFTs and cryptoart. When collaborating on a collection, artists agree that works made for Harugo no Mayu will never appear as NFTs. When choosing new artists for our collective, this is something we take into consideration, although we obviously cannot guarantee an artist won’t change their mind down the line and participate in these projects separate to their Harugo no Mayu pieces.
Can I join Harugo no Mayu as an artist?
We are always looking to expand our collective. If you think your work is a good fit, feel free to get in touch and let us know. Although we try to respond to everyone, please be aware that we may be unable to when the volume of inquiries is high. We also only release collections several times a year, so please keep in mind that the number of artists we add to our collective will likely be low.
